AGGREGATION & TRANSLATION
Aggregation & Translation is a project focused on developing a design process, as well as the importance of reiteration, color theory, and modeling. With many individual pieces brought together as one, this project shows craft, development, ideation, and the value of taking elements to the next level.
PATTERNS & COLOR
In the patterns section of this project, we explored the use of 1 unit repeated multiple times and aggregated in various ways. The initial patterns began in black/white, which then expanded into themes of color theory, including color schemes, color relativity, and optical illusions. We also used color to adjust pattern readings. Each portion of the patterns section is done using one recurring base pattern.
3 DIMENSIONAL
In the 3D portion of this project, we worked in groups and collaborated on peers’ patterns. Using the on-site material lab & shop, we constructed 3D models that can be aggregated in various ways, based off of an initial pattern within the group. This portion relayed back to the idea of iteration, play, and success/failure, as we made multiple rounds of trial runs and ideation plans.
